COVID-19 has been proven to make everyday tasks more difficult than we’d like to admit. At River City Companion Animal Hospital we have been and will remain to do our very best to keep our doors open to serve you and your fur babies. In order to accomplish this, we must work together to provide the safest experience for both you and our staff. Please familiarize yourself with our current COVID-19 guidlines below and should you have any questions or require additional information - contact our clinic directly at 210-404-1717 and one of our staff members would be more than happy to assist you! APPOINTMENTS Due to current guidelines provided by the CDC and AVMA - our clinic is functioning via 100% curbside. It is in the best interest of our clients and staffs safety to remain completely curbside until new information has been provided about the virus / vaccines. Please call 210-404-1717 whenever you arrive to let us know that you are here and provide us with your vehicle make & color. We ask that you remain in your vehicle in our parking lot until you receive confirmation from one of our staff members that your pet may be dropped-off before leaving the premises. Be sure that a reliable telephone number is given to one of our staff members to communicate with you throughout the appointment in order for us to treat your pet in a timely and efficient manner. CURBSIDE CONCIERGE SERVICE You can have your appointment completed while you wait in the comfort of your car! We will come to you, collect your fur baby and a history, and call you once we have performed the examination to discuss the findings. If your fur baby requires additional diagnostics, we may suggest that we turn your appointment into a drop-off allowing you to leave, if necessary. We would then discuss the results with you by phone once the tests are completed. Any recommended and approved treatments or hospitalization would then be performed. When it's time for your fur baby to return home, you may remain in your car and we will bring them to you. Please have all cats in a carrier, we will use one of our leashes for dogs. DROP OFF APPOINTMENTS In a similar fashion, we are continuing to offer drop-off appointments PRODUCT PURCHASES In a similar fashion to our appointments and drop offs, we are offering Curbside Concierge for medication refills, heartworm & flea/tick products and food. Please give us a call ahead of time, we will prepare your order and collect payment by phone. Call 210-404-1717 when you arrive and we will bring your goodies to you! ​ We recommend having 2-4 weeks of food and medicine at home for possible home quarantine. However, we intend to do everything possible to make sure we are able to continue to provide these products for you and your fur baby! ​​ WHAT CAN YOU DO AT HOME? Follow the current CDC recommendations for self-quarantine and practice safe social distancing. Be careful around other fur babies if you feel ill. Wash your hands frequently, and keep your hands away from your face. Keep approximately 2-4 weeks of food and necessary medication stocked at home. SO, HOW CAN WE WORK TOGETHER? If you feel ill or have been exposed, please quarantine at home and call us at 210-404-1717 to discuss service, treatment, and/or product options. ​ TOGETHER, WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS ​We are learning about this virus everyday.
