Prior to your pet’s surgery, preoperative lab screening will be done to ensure there are no underlying medical issues present. This can be scheduled a week or two in advance at your convenience.
Surgeries are admitted 7:00am-8:00am. Your pet will need to be fasted after 8:00pm the night before.
Upon arrival, one of our technician staff will review the procedure, consent forms, and answer any questions you may have.
After your pet’s surgery, a technician will call you with an update and to schedule a discharge time. When you arrive to pick up your pet, we will go over all medications and aftercare instructions with you. You will receive a written report as well to refer back to.
Your pet will go home with an Elizabethan collar and pain medications. Most times, dissolvable sutures are used so there is no need to return to the hospital. The e-collar should be worn 10-14 days. After 14 days, your pet may resume bathing/grooming.
